Last night (Thursday 8th June 06) Woodland Eggs scooped the “East Midlands Sustainability Award” at the 2006 Business in the Community Awards held at the Peepul Centre, Leicester.
Hosted by John Kelly (Prince of Wales Ambassador) with guest speakers Alan Duncan MP and Sir Derek Higgs. Woodland Eggs successfully illustrated how its partnership with Sainsbury’s and the Woodland Trust operates with exceptional business practices.
Karl Mitchell, Director of Fundraising at the Woodland Trust states “Congratulations to Woodland Eggs for winning the Business in the Community Regional Award for sustainability. Our partnership is a shining example of how organisations can work together in a very positive way.”
"We were delighted with Woodland Eggs submission for our Awards for Excellence. By working with nature, Woodland Eggs is creating an increasingly positive impact on the environment while also developing a strong niche market. Happy hens, more trees, more business. A great example of business excellence!"
